The end of week 1!
Okay so it is now Sunday afternoon. Ihave been been working out for a week now. I went to the gym everyday but Thursday. Thursday there was just no time. I work a 10 hour day, and had my Weight Watchers meeting that evening. Oh I suppose I could have woken up at the butt crack of dawn or some such craziness, but 6 days a week of cardio is going to have to do for a while. I did 45 minutes each time at the gym. Everytime I began on the elliptical machine and then went to either the bike or treadmill, except one day I did all 45 mins on the elliptical. The elliptical seems to be my favorite, I actually think it is fun for a while.
While I expected more than the .7 pound weight loss, I am not disapointed. It will come as long as I put the work in, so I am going to keep putting the work in! It's interesting, I have gone to countless WW meetings over the last 10 years or so, and never thought about what the fractions of pounds. Yet, it is something that almost always is present. But, I never stopped to think about what it really is.
.1lb = 1.6oz
.2lb = 3.2oz
.3lb = 4.8oz
.4lb = 6.4oz
.5lb = 8oz
.6lb = 9.6oz
.7lb = 11.2oz
.8lb = 12.8oz
.9lb = 14.4 oz
Seeing it like this makes me see even small amounts of weight loss as an accomplishment.
One thing I am noticed this week was that I craved a lot of salt, I seemed to want to salt everything, before this I never really salted anything. The night before my weigh in I decided to have some popcorn, not a big deal, I had plenty of points available. But I added salt, for some reason I kept thinking it was Tuesday, and I figured I would have enough time before weigh in to flush out the extra sodium, minor brain fart I guess, but the salt craving really has been intense. So I figure I need more water. I changed out my water bottle for working out to one that is a little easier to access while working hard on the elliptical. This one also holds more so it should get me through my workout.
All in all it was a great week. I earned over 30 activity points this week, my goal was 21 so I blew that out of the water. I stayed with in my points everyday. I meet with Shianne tomorrow and we will see how things are going. I did go get a heart monitor (not the green one, it seems to be out of stock everywhere, and I was too impatient for an internet purchase). I like working out with the monitor because it helps me to push it. I get a great flashing visual that keeps me motivated.
